Christmas Cupcakes Layout & Mini Tutorial

My boss surprised me with Christmas cupcakes last year and I thought I should scrap about it so I can remember her thoughtful gestures in this season of giving. Wonder if there are any this year. LOL! Anyway, how often do we scrap about things? I am sure most of us scrap about our loved ones most of the time. Why not try scrapping about things in your next layout? It is fun and will be as meaningful as you scrap about your loved ones too :)

Added pearls for the Christmas tree!! Lovely!!

See that glittery and misted snowflakes? Wanna know how to make them? I will show you how to make both effect. Should we say creating own background paper?! *wink*

Snowflake 1: Misted snowflake.

You'll need a snowflake-looking punch. I used the Martha Stewart's Vintage Doily punch. I punched mine on a glossy photo paper. I have a few that I made printing mistakes on so why not recycle them. You may ask why specifically on a glossy photo paper? So I can reuse it many times because of it's thickness & the smooth glossy surface.

Lay your punched snowflakes all around a plain cardstock. Personally I like the kraft series from Bazzill.

Mist it with any colors depending on your theme. Here I used two colors - red & blue.

Here's the completed looking misted snowflake.

A tip: Once you are done, wipe off the excess mist on the punch snowflake with a wet wipe.

Snowflake 2: Glittered Snowflake.

It's the same how you do the misted snowflake but instead of misting it to the punched snowflake, you traced the negative using the ZIG glue. Fill up the holes.

Pour glitter powder on it, shake the excess off and...

Ta daa... you'll get yourself a glittered snowflake.

Just a tiny tip: Do your snowflake one at a time. Once you are all done, your punched snowflake will be sticky. Wipe of the excess glue witha wet wipe. That is why I prefer a glossy photo paper *wink*

Try it with any other shape punches and do share with me because I would love to see your take!

Xoxo Jessy

No, we cannot always make scrapbookpages with portraits. Other things also may deserve some attention like you did here. It is a lovely layout.
