Dinner Soon?

I love the October Afternoon Wild cards in the Pixie's Feb kit and they are just so vintage! One really caught my attention about dinner conversation & immediately I had an idea to make a card with the title "Dinner Soon?" I thought it might be a cool card to invite friends over for dinner and to catch up. Don't you think so?

I still remember vividly the table manners my mom & dad taught me when I was young. They were very particular about how we munch our food... mouth should be closed while you do that & not making "funny munching" sound. How should we choose that certain part of the chicken from the plate served? We were taught to first observe then slowly pick up the part that we like. Not tossing the chicken parts around till you make up your mind. Mom's a Chinese, so she used to boil soup very often. She always warned us to gently dip into the bowl of soup and drink it. Never "rinse" the spoon in the soup... if you know what I mean! LOL! Of course the classic, we shouldn't talk with our mouths full!

These days, when I observe, kids & quite a number of adults do not have proper table manners. The one thing I can't stand is kids running everywhere during dinner in a restaurant and parents are doing nothing about it. It annoys me... seriously!

Ok, enough of the blabbing & I do hope you like this card. Have an awesome week ahead!
Xoxo Jessy

Oh jessy, I SO agree that too many people do not teach their children manners! Whether they are small or not, there are boundaries that HAVE to be taught. Dh spent a few dinners outside a restaurant when the kids were small and getting antsy in order not to disturb others.
LOVE this project!

love the vintage-y feel to the card! and I agree with you completely on how badly some children behave at restaurants...and it gets on my nerves to when parents do nothing about it! Oh well, I really shouldn't be complaining until I get my own and see how it's like to tame the kids, LOL

haha..my mom too, real fussy. We were given individual bowls or a common spoons, even back in those days. YOur caption on the layout made me grin.
BTW, Jessy, I checked out the shipping on the pixie dust Feb kit. It's usd28. Is there any way shipping can be lowered ie when they send stuff to you and I combine my shipping with your stuff? They mentioned they have a DT in Malaysia and it has to be you

I agree whole heartedly! People with bad manners (children and adults, both) can ruin a nice dinner, movie, date... It's a bit sad, actually! I feel bad for them. They're missing out on something important, I think.

I LOVE that card by the way! SO clever and cute!

I totally agree about what your are writing about manners! Learning how to behave is important. Love the card from October Afternoon. They have a lot of nice things for layouts and cards.

I am a big stickler on all the points you said too-my parents were adamant about it...if you chew with your mouth open, we ask if you are a pig on a farm LOL...I dislike when my daughters friends come over and sit with their feet underneath their butts at my dinner table. Her friends know us well enough to know NOW that I will correct their bad manners at MY table. I think the problem is many families don't eat dinner together as a family EVERY night-for my kids, it is the norm EVERY night but not for their friends and that's why manners are sliding downhill....sad but true.
