"Precious Hope" Layout

Hi there! It's me sneaking in to share with you my 1st step by step on how to build a layout. This is also my 1st tutorial as Donna Salazar's Design Team. I am so excited, can you tell? Lol.

Before you start on building this layout, I will show you simple techniques you can do for preparation using Donna Salazar's products along with the Spring In Bloom collection.

Here we go...

First, you have to tear out the strips from the Springtime Ribbons. I inked up all the strips with Clearsnap Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk Queue.

Next, get a cardstock and punch a border. Cut the strip out.

Layer it on another cardstock. Mask the border punch using the Smooch Spritz - Praline & Cream.

Here is the beautiful & very glittery effect that I like!

To create the flower, I used the Spellbinders die. Of course I got out the Crafty Chronicle. You may refer to Donna's flower making video at the left side of Donna's blog.

Once I am done with the flowers, I spritzed the Smooch Spritz - Praline & Cream on them. I also used the blending tool along with the Clearsnap Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk Queue to give colors to the flowers.

Now onto the building the layout...

For the background, I chose Butterfly Harmony. Next I arranged the Springtime Ribbons in ascending and descending position. Also layered the border punch across the Springtime Ribbons that I used earlier on masking the cardstock.

Then, I added 2 photos towards the right side of the layout. The bigger photo, I matted it on Butterfly Harmony.

Next, add the Crafty Chronicle handmade flowers just below the matted photo.

Here I fussy cut the roses from the Spring Journal Cards to go along with the Crafty Chronicle handmade flowers. Also sprinkled Fairy Dust Glitters on the roses.

Finally add on other details like the butterfly, bird, journaling and a title.
Just adore the spring look!

Close-up shots:

I created the centre of the flowers by using buttons. One of the buttons, I added details by using the Fairy Dust Glitter in Pralines & Cream. It sticked so well with Glue Gloss. You should try!

To dress up the butterfly, I tied jute and created a roll rose.

I love doodling my own title on scraps!
