Bali, Indonesia

My lady boss joined a vacation club and decided to use up her given vacation days before it expired. So she invited Mr Handsome & I to join her family for a short getaway at Bali, Indonesia. Immediately we said YES! We have always wanted to visit Bali and the opportunity has arrived. Accommodation is provided, why not eh?

I will be sharing with you some of the photos I managed to captured with my iPhone 4s :) Wish that I capture more but the good times we had seem to make me forget a wee lil bout it sometimes. Lol. Most of the photos are made into photo collages for easy viewing.

Photobucket
Once we have arrived at the Denpasar airport, we were greeted by tons of pamphlets. All you have to do is to grab a bunch and study them. Hehe.
Photobucket
We stayed at this beautiful place called Karma Jimbaran. It's a luxurious villa with private pool and it has very good security there. That'a a plus point!

Photobucket
A private pool in the villa. How awesome is that?
Photobucket
The living, dining and kitchen. You can cook, they have everything for you to grill, bake and utensils to brew your own coffee/tea :) I love the open space with glass concept.
Photobucket
Here's the three bedroom, they are not attached to the living area.

Photobucket

This is where we shower most of the time. An open shower, refreshing!

Photobucket

This drink called Teh Botol is the highlight of our getaway. I tasted this many times when I was at Medan. Introduced to the boys and they loved it, so it's Teh Botol everywhere we go. It's flavored tea in a bottle :)

If you ever visit Jimbaran, please try their seafood cause it's super yums! Make sure you spot the one with the most customers. That's my Papa's advise to me all the time :)
Photobucket
Yummy food that makes us put on weight. Lol.

Photobucket

This is a photo of rice paddy field at Tengalalang. You will get to see on the way to Mount Batur :)
Photobucket
To get a good tour & the most in Bali, you got to hire a tourist guide. Elvys is a very informative person and I really enjoy listening to all the lil chats we had about the places we go. He can converse in Bahasa Indonesia, English, Japanese, Russian, Germany... pretty impressive. He's a good driver and gives good rates too (just remember to bargain) :)

We visited the active volcano called Mount Batur in Kintamani. It's about 3 hours drive from our villa. Love the scenery and the weather was chilly. Love that! If you are an adventurous person, they have hiking package just for you!

Photobucket
Next stop, was to a coffee plantation not far away from the Mount Batur. And Bali is famous for Kopi Luwak or known as Pea-berry Coffee or some called it as Civet Coffee. This coffee is one of the world's most expensive and low production varieties of coffee. If you wanna know the process, go google it! You'll be surprised :)

Photobucket
While we were there, we were given tea and coffee for tasting. I don't drink coffee so I was trying all the tea which was pretty limited. Oh yeah, Mr Handsome tried Kopi Luwak and he said it is rich and unique! Yeah it was US$5 for 50 ml. Of course it has to be good rite? Hehe.

Photobucket
Well the boys had some silly moments at the coffee plantation and we also visited the Ralph Lauren's factory outlet. Anyway, Bali has tons of factory outlet stores selling Billabong, Quiksilver, Surf Girl, Zara, Topshop... to name a few! You can find them at Kuta town.

Photobucket
While we were there, there's a celebration among the Hindus there. It was called the Galungan / Kuningan festival. Glad that we managed to witness a glimpse of this festival. Bali is the only island in Indonesia that has the most Hindu believers.

Photobucket

When I have free time in the villa, this is the book that I read and still reading. For some reason, I love biographies and real-life story :)

Photobucket

A view from the pool lounge I was lying down while doing reading. The sun ray was beautiful!!
Photobucket
Of course you got to try spa and massage at Bali. We had so much fun being pampered this way. I chose the strawberry scrub and Mr Handsome had the aloe vera ones. It was amazing! Sanda Day Spa at Nusa Dua is an awesome place to get a good massage, the staffs are friendly and we got free transport to get us there too. Speaking about good deal & service eh?

Photobucket
We also got to visit the sister resort of Karma Jimbaran called Karma Kandara at Nusa Dua. It's about 40 minutes away. Same villa concept but they have a private beach.  But I still prefer the modern structure at Karma Jimbaran though.

Photobucket
Look at the infinity pool, isn't it beautiful?

Photobucket
To get to the beach, we have to ride on a tram because it is pretty exhausting to get down.  And furthermore they don't have any stairs to access the beach. The security was tight too :)

Photobucket

Blissful moment...

Photobucket
Once the boys are done with swimming, we did a lil photoshoot. I have fetish for doors and I got my boss's son who was also my ex-student to snap photos for us. Love his composition!

Photobucket
Be still my heart!

Photobucket

As we were waiting for the staff to get us back to Karma Jimbaran, we had a jumping shot. We are fun like that!
Photobucket
A few shot before we bid farewell!

Photobucket
This was taken on Valentine's Day. Heart all the sunshine rays!
Photobucket
Mr Handsome and I decided to pamper ourselves with manicure and pedicure. It was his first and I am glad that he loved it. All along, you'll be seated and they will get your nails and toes done but in Bali at this spa, we were asked to lie down. I seriously love this concept, it was so relaxing!

Photobucket

Our clean toes! Oh yeah, Flip Flop is the way to travel. So comfy to walk on it for hours!

Photobucket

A last stop at Starbucks to get my sister a souvenir. She's a manager at Starbucks KL & she's collecting tumblers. So why not get her one at Bali before we leave for airport :)
Photobucket
Well, while waiting these are the electronic devices that kept us occupied. Hehe.
Photobucket

We had a lil Valentine dinner at the airport and it was yummy!

Photobucket
Mr Handsome got me this cute shade for V-day and I loved it! It's perfect for the vacation for sure!

Phew, this has been a long post and I think I better talk less before you all get sleepy by now. Lol. Generally, the Balinese are warm & friendly people. Most of them can speak English. It is pretty commercial and a safe place to travel with friends and families. If you wanna know anything about Bali, feel free to ask. Will share what I know or you can always google for feedbacks and reviews.

Btw, if you want a less commercial vacation which is an hour away with speedboat from Bali, you should try Gili islands. You can view pics HERE. Thanks for coming by!

P/s: Thanks Alia for this amazing opportunity and you are an awesome travel buddy!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
Xoxo Jessy

Wow that resort looks positively heavenly!!! LOve all the sunset shots and the shadows of you all reminded me of Bali shadow puppet shows. Hmmm- you probably wrote that in the caption... I was looking at the photos- excuse the half brained writing. :) Wonderful post!

So interesting thanks Jessy. I am bookmarking this post to show my hubs as we are travelling to Bali at the end of the year and also to Malaysia - yays! I hope you will be there so we can meet up for a cup of coffee - tea for you!! I may e mail you with questions about Bali and Malaysia. I have forgotten the name of the resort we are booked into in Bali and welcome any recommendations you have of good and not too expensive family accomodation for a few days in Malaysia. thanks!!
